Promoting the health and well-being of people around the world

Children in Zambia

“When we confront suffering — when we save lives — we breathe hope into devastated populations, strengthen and stabilize society, and make our country and world safer.”
–President George W. Bush

The global health community has made significant progress in reducing the number of deaths from infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, thanks in large part to the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). But this work is not complete.

There are still millions of people without access to proper health care. Infectious diseases, like HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria, continue to impact communities around the globe. Through our work to build on U.S. global health engagement and our Go Further partnership to end AIDS and cervical cancer, the Bush Institute aims to advance the health of all people.
