Advocating for Women

Improving the lives of women and children through education, opportunity, and health

Societies thrive when women hold equal and active roles. Autocrats and extremists recognize this and seek power and control at the abject expense of women’s basic human rights.

Communities thrive when women and girls hold equal and active roles. For women to engage and contribute to society, they need to be healthy, educated, and safe.

Unfortunately, opportunity and inclusion continue to remain out of reach for many women and girls. American leadership and engagement to support women is critical to a peaceful world. The Bush Institute looks to educate the general public and policymakers on:

  • The violence against women and children and its role in migration
  • The impact of women on democracy, peace, and security
  • The importance of supporting the well-being of young women and adolescent girls
  • The need to advance solutions for female refugee populations
