“President Vladimir Putin’s unjustified and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine marks the gravest security threat on the European continent since World War II."
David J. Kramer, Executive Director of the George W. Bush Institute, discusses his recommendations to the United States and its allies on supporting Ukraine until the country declares victory over Russia.
Kramer’s recommendations, published in a new policy brief for the Bush Institute, include increasing military and financial assistance to Ukraine, tightening sanctions on Russia, and seizing Russian assets overseas. He also urges Democratic nations to hold Russia accountable for its invasion of Ukraine and other war crimes and signal to other authoritarian regimes, like China, that similar acts won’t be tolerated.
