We are in countdown mode at the Bush Center as we prepare for the Dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Center and the May 1 opening of the George W. Bush Library and Museum.
The National Archives and Records Administration is busy working with the museum fabricators on the final touches of the exhibits and the design teams are installing artwork and furnishings in the newly named Café 43 restaurant.
Café 43, in reference to the 43rd President of the United States, is a full-service restaurant on the grounds of the 23-acre Bush Center and will be operated by Dallas-based food and beverage management specialists, Culinaire.
Café 43 has indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the native Texas landscaping and the main entrance to the George W. Bush Institute. It will be a community spot, available for private rental and special dinner events, and dining at the restaurant will not require admission to the museum. The restaurant opens May 3.
The decor features beautiful artwork, including an entrance hall painting by Pamela Nelson, Dallas painter and friend of Mrs. Laura Bush.
