Brian Cossiboom serves as Vice President of Finance & Operations and Treasurer of the George W. Bush Foundation. In these roles he oversees the planning, development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of functions at across the Bush Center.
As chief financial officer and treasurer, Mr. Cossiboom is responsible for all finance and accounting activities including audit, tax, treasury, and endowment management. As chief operating officer, he is accountable for multi-site facilities and grounds; retail, restaurant, and catering operations; execution of all Bush Center events; museum box office, visitor experience, and customer service; data collection, analyses, and reporting; information technology systems and services; and human capital management. He is also responsible for the coordination of finance and operations interactions with the National Archives and Records Administration and Southern Methodist University. Mr. Cossiboom concurrently serves as the Senior Director of Operations in the Office of George W. Bush which provides management support relating to all for-profit and non-profit activities of President and Mrs. George W. Bush.
Prior to relocating to Dallas, Texas, he served in a number of roles in the Bush Administration. Most recently, he served as Special Assistant to the President in the Office of Presidential Personnel, the executive recruiting arm of the presidency. In this role Mr. Cossiboom managed the National Security portfolio, comprised of the largest Cabinet departments including: the U.S. Departments of State, Defense, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security as well as several independent agencies, all ambassadors, and numerous presidential boards and commissions with direct policy impact.
Before his most recent tenure at the White House, Mr. Cossiboom served at the U.S. State Department as the Chief of Staff of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). ECA fosters mutual understanding between the people of the United States and people around the world through a variety of international programs based on the benefits of mutual understanding, educational exchange, and leadership development.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Cossiboom served more than a decade in customer service and operations management capacities with Circuit City Stores, Inc.
A Gallatin, Tennessee native, Mr. Cossiboom holds a B.S. in Business Management and Administration from the Brock School of Business at Samford University and a Master of Business Administration from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
