DALLAS—Today, the George W. Bush Institute released policy recommendations and short analyses on international and domestic policy challenges facing the incoming Trump Administration and Congress.

The domestic briefs include recommendations for:
- Our broken immigration system and migration surges at the U.S.-Mexico border
- K-12 students and veterans having the tools they need to succeed in their next stages in life
The foreign policy briefs include recommendations for:
- Economic statecraft to advance American interests overseas
At the same time, the Bush Institute urges Congress and the Trump Administration to reengage on the continent of Africa and reauthorize the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), a program that has saved 26 million lives and prevented 7.8 million babies from contracting HIV/AIDS in the past 21 years.
“As we prepare to inaugurate our 47th president, we have outlined a series of policy recommendations for the new administration and the newly convened 119th Congress as a roadmap forward,” said David J. Kramer, Executive Director of the Bush Institute. “Our contributions to the policy debates reflect the values that guide the Bush Institute’s work: freedom, opportunity, accountability, and compassion.”
