Plan your next field trip to the George W. Bush Presidential Center, where students can learn about the United States presidency through the lens of the 43rd president. Students are also invited to explore the progression of freedom through history in our special exhibit, Freedom Matters, which includes rare documents from America’s founding.
The George W. Bush Presidential Museum’s permanent exhibit walks visitors through the consequential times during which President and Mrs. Bush served and includes a moving presidential on September 11, 2001; an interactive experience in presidential decision-making; and nd a replica Oval Office where students can sit behind the Resolute Desk and imagine themselves as president.
Our special exhibit, Freedom Matters, includes original documents such as:
- Works by philosophers Locke and Rousseau;
- A 14th century collection of English statutes, including the Magna Carta;
- The Constitution as it was printed in the Columbian magazine in 1787;
- Editions of works from abolitionists Frederick Douglass, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and Harriet Tubman;
- The Revolution newspaper established by Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, advocating for women’s suffrage;
- And many more.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Bush Center. To learn more about our TEKS-aligned resources, transportation funding reimbursement, and to book your field trip, please visit www.bushcenter.org/fieldtrips.
